Dear Circus blog readers,
Yesterday a man named David Chestnut called me concerning his ambition to write a book on the original “101 Ranch Wild West Show”. Our conversation was very exciting. The following 15 photos are from his collection that he obtained from his research. His great uncle Bill Caress was on the show which is what originally stirred his interest. David is now traveling throughout Texas and Oklahoma visiting people whose relatives were once on the “101” in the hope to obtain more facts, stories and photos for his book.
I’m hoping that anyone who can contribute to David’s book will contact me and I will put them in touch with him………… Thank you. IVAN

Thanks, Ivan…
I’m looking for any information that I can find…Would like to know more about Billy Lorette, Joe Lewis and Jess Williard (I know about his boxing career)…
Bill also worked for Sells Floto Circus in 1924 & 25…his wife at the time Golden Hagethorn (?) we are not sure of her last name…would really like to find out more on her, I’m thinking that she was with the 101 too, because they had an infant child which died at birth in 1916.
I have a lot of information, but always looking for more…Bill also was a member of the cast “Cheer Up” this is where Houdini made an elephant disappear.
