Hugo Zacchini Coat Lost for Fifty Years
Posted By thecircusblog on January 31, 2016
Hugo’s coat was sent to me by Ralph Gasser. I then looked up an old friend, Pat Zacchini and told her that I had her father’s coat and would send it to her. As of 1/27/16 the circus coat is in Pat’s hands, I am indeed happy that I could do this for her. Many thanks are given to Ralph Gasser for sending Hugo’s coat to me so that I was able to return it to the Zacchini family.

HIS OLD CANNON USED TO BE PARKED THERE IN FONTANA ON A LOT FOR YEARS. A FRIEND OF MINE HERE IN LAS VEGAS HAD THE TITLE TO IT FOR YEARS, MY FRIEND PASSED AND I DON’T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO IT. SINCE.
In 1949 Hugo, two of his sisters and a brother were with the Tom Packs’ Police/Shrine Circus summer unit. An Uncle was with them. Their Father had not come to the US by then. When did their Father come here? The Uncle had used a cane for some time, but later had surgery and did very well. It was a fine time and show. Everyone was friendly. Closed with a nine day stand in Montreal, and a big closing party, as was Tom’s habit.
