You nailed it. They are both Paul Jung. Years ago the clowns on RBB&B even did a walkaround during the show with various commercial products from the likes of Kodak and Kraft. I understand they were each paid a few extra dollars for this service.

Paul was one of RBB&B’s producing clowns. He and his wife had a business in Florida that produced props for performers and other shows besides Ringling. He was murdered in his hotel room by a drug dealer while the show was play in Madison Square Garden. I believe the killer got $20 from Paul.

In 1957, during a run in Waco, Texas, Duane Thorpe told Paul Jung of an ad for Pepsi, which hung in a fairgrounds building. He said, “It has a red mouth, but its’ you.” Paul replied, “Yes, a slight change of my makeup and they don’t have to pay royalties.” We see this ad is fully Paul Jung, with Kool-Aid not obscuring his face with their product as Kellogg’s did with bits of their cereal.
