Lowell Parker #5

In the mid 1970’s? around 1975? Lowell Parker wrote stories on interesting subjects, such as the circus. Now to be honest I did not collect these editorials. There was always a friend or a circus fan that would find these articles and gave them to me. At times it seemed like a nuisance as I really was not into news ad’s or clipping. I would then take the ad’s and filed them away. It was not till when I stated the Circus Blog and went through old photos etc, that I found these editorials. I hope you have enjoyed the reading.

The Morton Downey Jr. Show was, indeed, taped at the WWOR studios in Secaucus, New Jersey (just across the river from the Meadowlands Sports Complex, for those who are interested in such minutiae). I was a big fan of Mort’s; still am. I had the pleasure of going to a few tapings of his show in 1989, and when he moved to CNBC in 1990 I went to quite a number of tapings there as well. Unfortunately, Mort passed away in 2001. I often wonder what he would have thought of shows like Jerry Springer’s.
