Triska Troupe
Posted By thecircusblog on December 30, 2013
I do not remember who sent this photo to me, but I wish to thank who ever. I work with Triska on many shows. He, I thought was some what of a loner, however when you got to know him,Triska became your friend. I can tell you this Triska was a dedicated performer. I have no knowledge of why the yellow line is in the photo.

His name was Matej Triska. He was my uncle. Before his wife Pat (far left) performed with him, my dad, Augustin (Gustov), his brother and his sister Karla Triska Pickna performed as other members in the act in Europe. My mother, Grace Margaret Triska joined the act after meeting Gustov in England. They all came to the US together in 1950 on the USS America. Karla, Gustov and Margaret left the act to settle in homes with their children. Other family members performed in the act in Europe and, later in the US, some of Matej’s childen joined him on the highwire for several years. At some point, the act was known as the White Devils
