Jacobs Winter Quarters
Posted By thecircusblog on August 15, 2012
Some time ago this photo was emailed to me. I don’t remember who sent it, but along with this photo was written Terrell Jacobs winter quarters. I had to verify that this was true , so I called Judy Jacobs it Texas. She said that her father Terrell had built this barn sometime in 1950, and that their home was directly across from the barn. So for those of you, like myself who never saw the Jacobs winter quarters here it is. Thank you who ever the person is that sent this Photo.
Thank you Bob for reminding me that you sent me this photo…….Please read comment.

Ivan, I sent this to you. I took this in 1985.

This is one of 3 barns in Peru Indiana. This belonged to my Uncle Paul Kelly. He has been gone for some time but his wife just died last year at 100 years old. He bought the barns and house sometime in the 1950’s. I believe this was the elephant barn. Unfortunately they are in disrepair.

Jobernie (Morris) Weaver is my Mom. Yet I have to correct her this is the Cat barn (sorry Mom) Paul is my great uncle and his granddaughter Sharon Sullivan and I played in all the barns as children. The cat barn was the scariest as Guy Goslings Bengal tiger that attacked him was housed there, and the roars where scary to us.
