This is a three section cage wagon, with clown band. The photo was taken during shows parade in 1921. Notice the teamster posing for the shot as well.

Point of Interest.
Walter L. Main Circus was in Sussex, New Brunswick, Canada, 15 Jul 1898. The front page of “The Weekly Record,” 08 Jul 1898 (local newspaper) carried advertisement with photo.
What a great blog ! My great grandfather was one of the wagon teamsters for Walter Main. We don’t know much about him so these pictures are a joy to see. Thanks !
