My uncle, Earl D. Mileham worked the Al G. Barnes circus as a publicity man. He and his wife traveled with the circus and at one time my mother and grandmother also got to ride on the circus train. My mother said the crowds at the stations, awaiting the trains, were huge. She also got to ride in a seat across from Mabel Stark, who had one of her “cats” around her shoulders. I have several pictures of the circus.
