Antonucci’s Chimps

I met Al Antonucci when I was a young man, long before I was involved with chimps. We had one chimp Jackie that my mother worked. As for myself I had no desire to become a chimp trainer. I knew the great ones ….Ruben Castang, Henry Tyndall, Del Graham Sr. and others in our business. Al was different. He had fun working his act and maybe that is what inspired me and a little help with fate. It wasn’t but a few years later Dad acquired Harman’s Chimp, truck and all. I became a chimp trainer or was it the other way around. Thanks to my Dad and the knowledge of other chimp trainers I was able to create a fine chimp act.
