Hey Ivan you keep turning up these great performing friends from the past. Hi Ken and Betty.
I remember an act that always covered their base very well and personally promoted health and happiness. A shout out to old friends!
I’m pleased to say that my father Herb and I were friends of Ken and Betty in the 70s when we all worked together on the American Continental/Canadian International Circus.
I regret losing touch. The only thing I can say in my defence is that I was busy surviving.
I loved and always watched Ken’s act in particular and always thought I had seen his act more that any living being.
Ken did his act every day even if we were not working and stated that he intended to perform even when he was 92. I hope he achieved that ambition.
Ken was in the Navy and did hand stands on the guard rails high up on the mast look out post. His mates thought he was slightly nuts. Ken said there was nothing to it. It was easy.
I gave Ken a text book from the Annapolis Naval Academy that presented history from a Naval perspective. He became an instant expert.
Good folks and good times.
Regards, John Miller
Ken and Betty are still alive and together, living in California, as of 2015.
Wow, what a treat to come across this page. I was trying to located Ken and Betty Willer to see if they were still around performing their Circus-time routine or if they had passed it on to someone. I live in El Monte and in about 2007 we contracted them to do their Circus-time doggie act. Well needless to say it was a great show both kids and adults alike enjoyed and were mesmerized by the performance. As old as he said he was he was still pretty limber and did little stunts himself along with the pooches. He’s wife was his lovely assistant. I wish they were still around I would have loved for my little granddaughter to have seen it. You rarely find talent and entertainment like that these days. I may still have the pictures too:) we were lucky to have experienced it:) thank you for allowing me to share
