The Jumbo Big Top and Ivan doing Iron Jaw
Posted By thecircusblog on February 4, 2011
After many days of practicing with the stage crew on how to pull me up to where the director wanted me for the shot, the director changed his mind for a different angle and wanted me to go even higher just inches from the canvas. It was pretty difficult for the stage crew to get a good, slow, smooth pull on the rigging rope for the mouthpiece cable . It became very tiresome for me being pulled up over and over, so I asked if I could use a weight to take the place of me. All in all on the day of the shoot it went perfect and Al Doebrich was happy. The circus big top was erected inside the sound stage #15. These sound stages are quite large. They used one end and a middle of a circus tent for the scene. I felt right at home.
