Clyde Beatty Movie Ads

The great Clyde Beatty did it all from movies, books and the circus, He had what it took to be an actor, performer and circus owner. There was even talk of a TV show on a Hollywood television station KTLA in the late 1950’s. He is one of a kind….there will never be another Clyde Beatty.

I grew uo in N. Miami Bch Fl. Jungle Land was across the street from my house and I went to school with Clyde Beatty’s Granddaughter I believe her name was Evelyn Say?
I remember playing with Tiger cubs, baby elephants and I remember sometimes they would get loose and come over to my yard because we had animals and that was the first thing that they saw. There was a phone booth in corner of our front yard and my aunt was in the phone booth calling the police to tell them that a Lion was loose in our yard! They laughed and though she was drunk after sveral phone calls and hrs later they finally came out to claim him. We had elephants tangled up in clothes lines, my aunt had a money latch on to her and she had to walk across the hwy to get someone to get it off of her. It bit her when she tried. That was a fun time’ I believe I was in the 6th grade…. No one believe me, I also swam with the origanal Flipper!
