Henry Bros Circus Banner
Posted By thecircusblog on May 12, 2013
This is a photo taken by my grandfather J.E. Henry sometime around 1920 give or take a year. You can see a small mud show menagerie banner line. What I would give to have these banners now. Grandfather in the early years never had a large circus, a family show only. In the later 1920’s he grew it somewhat larger and hired acts, one being Hal Smith who changed his name to Hubert Castle. He also had other and larger outside attractions. In the 1930’s the show geow even larger but never the size of Cole Bros Ringling Bros and the like.
