Henry Tyndall

Henry Tyndall is the only full blood Native American chimp trainer I know of. This photo was taken at the Jungleland Compound in Thousand Oaks, Calif. in 1970. Henry was one fine chimp trainer and I’m proud to say I was a friend of his.

I spent many hours with CHIEF HENRY TYNDALL at Jungleland in 1965 to1969 when Jungleland went to auction. Chief taught me alot. Not only about, indian folk lore, and beliefs but also how to make a great stock whip out of a wooden golf club. The stories would fill a couple of books. Most of all I remember his peaceful, humble personality. God blessed me with some very fine people to share my teenage years with and the Chief was definately at the top of the list.
