Siebrand Bros Billings

This photo was shot from the back of the fair grandstand looking down into the midway. I noticed something familiar……. it was our family’s novelty hat stand. It can be seen in the right side of the photo just above the Siebrand name. There also is a group of people in front looking at the sparkle hats that we sold. The sparkle hat was created by my mother. Most likely you have seen the hat that after you bought it a person would sew your name on it. My mother instead of sewing would write your name in a glue then sprinkle different colored glitter on it. It was a midway crowd sensation! We did quite well with it and after a while, because of their popularity they became a “must buy”. 1953
