This is new to me as well. A double tub Octopus and in the back ground what looks like a Sizzler and way off in the distance a Sky Diver.
I want to thank a dear friend who lives in Altoona for sending me these photos.

A few weeks ago I was invited to the 50 year anniversary of Legend City. I must say it was a great event. The original owner and builder of Legend City, Mr Carothers, also attended. The park went through many owners. The Bill Capell Family were the last to own Legend City from 1976 the 1983. It was then sold to land developers. I spent 1977 through the end as manager of the park . It was fun visiting with the people that worked for us then.Wallace of Wallace and Ladmo and Ron Nix were at the top of the list of our entertainment at that time. They attended as well. The park opened in 1963 and actually closed for good after the sale in 1983. A gentlemen who’s name escapes me started a fan club for Legend City Amusement Park. There had to be at this event 4 to 5 hundred people that attended this reunion. All because of this one person that loved Legend City. Thank you….it was a great event.

It always seems that when something is gone…. thats when it is really missed.

The Capell’s and I were the last to have the park. All knew that we did everything we could possible do to keep Legend City open. For eight years Bill Capell, myself and others battled the elements. There were times the temperature even at night would be over 110 and still is to this day. No place for out door entertainment.

Every Sunday on the Lakefront stage Wallace Ladmo with the trouble maker Garold (seen in red) entertained to a packed house. This TV kid show team was beloved by all. Two members are still with us Pat McMahon and Bill Thompson “Wallace.” Ladimir “Ladmo”Lwiattkowsi passed away several years ago. To this day people still crowd around Wallace when he appears to say hello. They are mainly adults now who were entertained when children. The prized possession to receive from Wallace and Ladmo was a Ladmo Bag. It was nothing more then a bag that was filled with goodies, but to a kid it was gold.
