I do hope I spelled his name correct. I do know it’s Gerard by the size of the blocks on his feet. I am not degrading him for that. He said that he felt more confident. Our conversation took place about 35 years ago. I will say this, he did one fine act.
Please read the comment that Casey just made. Very important

It is plane to see that this young lady is an assistant in a knife throwing act. Her costume dats her, very early 1900’s or even late 1800’s. Looks to me as a photo pose. The knifes are just to close to her………….. What do you think.

My family and I enjoyed many different seasons with the Siebrand show. We spent a week in each town, which gave us time to practice our acts. As a matter of fact, Dad and I created a stronger chimp act enabling us to play the big dates. In the event the larger circuses were booked or the money wasn’t there, Siebrands was always open for us. Thankfully we never had that problem.

1956…. The Siebrands were a very innovative family, always keeping up with the times. They probably were one of the first to have a Rock and Roll dance hall in a tent, as well a D.J, to play the popular recordings. Kids enjoyed themselves for hours. It turned out to be a bad idea t because they spent too much time dancing and not enough time spending money for ride tickets. When ride sales dropped, there was only one thing to do…no more Rock and Roll on the midway,

Siebrand Bros front gate 1956? in Great Falls, Montana. This show was the largest in the Southwest hosting over 27 major rides and a Kiddieland. In the back half of the midway was a two ring circus and between the rings was a 30 by 40 foot stage that was elevated 5 foot, and also live music. There was a 25 cent admission. A complete fence and semis with metal wings surrounded the total show. Each semi that faced the midway was painted with scenes of the different states we traveled in. This pleased those who came to visit Siebrand Bros.

1956 Great Falls, Montana. Siebrand Bros Circus & Carnival. Sandra’s parents Danny and Trina were performers on the Siebrand circus and later Sandra joined the act. In this photo she is playing around in one of the kiddie race car located on the Siebrand midway.
The Siebrand Photos were sent to me from Larry Dickason a long time friend.
