My dad and I worked with Pete and Petrova on the Polack Bros Circus in 1967. We only trouped with them that year, but we did become good friends. The last time I saw them was in 1975 in Wahita, Kansas doing a Shrine date. Then to my surprise while visiting The Tommy Hannaford show in Scottsdale, Arizona I ran into Pete and we of course cut up many jackpots and enjoyed out visit together.

Bill and Trudy Strong “The Pharoahs.”This picture was taken in 1963 on the Gil Gray Circus. In the background is one of the shows spec wagons. Their wardrobe was outstanding….as were the performers.

The Pharaohs was Bill and Trudy Strong’s stage name. In this photo they are performing their cradle act. This photo was taken on the Gil Gray show or a Dobritch date. It makes no difference…..just to have there photos on my circus blog is an honor. I always wanted to learn the arial cradel act but never accomplished it. The closest I got to it was doing a casting act and horizontal bars.

Bill and Trudy Strong presented their act on the Ed Sullivan Show. This was the first color broadcast for the Sullivan show. The New York theater was not ready for the shoot because of technical problems and had to be shot in Hollywood, Calif. I am sure Bill will make a comment for me on the date of this event.
