Clifford started his career promoting circuses. One of them was the Miller Johnson circus owned by Charles Germaine. Later Clifford bought the circus hence the Vargas circus. I remember the show well as I worked for Charles two short seasons with the chimp act, and to tell you the truth his was a pretty nice guy. The jumps were easy and we got paid on time. There is a very interesting story about Charley Germaine that he himself told me. It is about how he named his circus “Miller Johnson.” You see Charley did a little time, no need to explain why. While he spent his time he met two other inmates who became friends….. there names were Miller and Johnson. I am sure you can figure out the rest of this story.

David Rosaire probably had the cutest dog act I have ever seen.

All I can say is they are good show people and great performers. A few times I had to spot Antonetta for this trick. I had one season with them, wish it had been more.

This lady was a great performer. Her husband Chester Cable is one of the nicest guys in the business and was a great performer as well.

Maybe Wade Burck, or Bill Strong can help me out with this trainer name.
Update 7/16/o9, I compared the arena seats with some photos I have of Josip Marcan’s arena no match. Could this be Robert Bouty ?
See Bill Strongs comment below.
I think we have the name, check out Rob’s Comment.
Thank you Bill and Rob for your Circus Wisdom.

This act was fast and full of comedy…not one dull moment in the whole act. We worked with them a few times back in the late 1960’s but have never seen Dwight or Bobby again. Unfortunately….that’s show biz.
