The name of this clown is unknown to me…if you know him please make comment .This was another clown drag costume. This photo also was taken on the Clyde Beatty Circus, 1949 or 1950…… Note the tent makers name on the side wall, you can barely see it.

This is a photo of Cleo in Clown drag. There were many wardrobe changes with the circus clowns. Cleo used this costume for his clown walk-around. Photo taken on the Clyde Beatty circus 1949 or 1950.

The ringmaster, Mr Osorio welcomes the Families of Benson, Arizona on a warm spring day. The excitement was in the air and the children couldn’t wait for the first act to start. The little side wall circus was as neat as a pin, colorful and with clean wardrobe with many changes. The circus was a crowd pleaser from beginning to end. The photos that follow were shot by Janice Chandler Travino.

Up and ready for the people. The show was spotless and compact. They had four sets of low blank and stringer seating, safe and strong. Their side wall was four sided, nice entrance as well a back entrance for the performers. All of their trucks and trailers were in excellent shape.

This family of circus performers could hold their own with the best of them….even with those of the big circus acts. Their performances were extremely well done.

The evening show was dimly lit , but it gave the aerial ballet a little more drama.

Another favorite, the pony didn’t do very many tricks , but he didn’t have to ….the kids loved him because he was so cute.

There were just two, but you would think by the audience applause it was an entire troupe of high wire performers.

Somehow in small circus where the performers are close to the audience …..the show seems to be enjoyed a little more.
