Mr. Gray knew how to pick acts . The Gutie family had one of the funniest circus comedy acts I have ever seen.

I can hear him now… coaching the elephant up the slippery bank. “Alright steady now, Move up, Good girl come ahead.” More offen than not that calm voice of confidence from a trainer can settle the animal’s fear………….Smoky Jones was the perfect example. This photo is unknown to me. It did come from the Gil Gray collection.

This was the Cinderella Float drawn by eight chestnut ponies. The man at the reins really had to know how to handle an 8 up especially ponies as they can be jug heads at times. This is something I would have enjoyed seeing. My Uncle Max and another man built the floats and wagons for the Gil Gray Circus.
