Little John

This is John Strong Jr. I am guessing his age to be around two and a half years old. Learning how to ride an elephant at this age for a circus kid is perfectly normal.

A great photo of John Strong Jr and his wife with a friend in front of his sideshow. They are holding an albino boa constrictor. I spoke with John a few days ago. He is doing some fantastic things with his different shows.

The elephant here is a prop. I have to admit I had to look twice before I noticed it wasn’t real.

Bill Pickett was also on the 101 Ranch Wild West Show for a short time in the early 1900’s.

I believe this photo was taken in 1960. It is a great shot of Clyde Beatty. Thanks Randy for sharing it with the circus blog.
Thanks Harry and Randy for your comments, also Mike Cecere for his comment.
Thank you Miss Denson for your comment.

This wagon originally was “The War Chariot of India” owned by P.T. Barnum 1881. R.B.B.&B refurbished it by removing the first 8 presidents of United States photos that were in line on top of wagon. Original can be seen on P.T. Barnum part 1 # 3, just scroll back next page.
I want to thank Bob Cline for sending me this photo.
