Jon not only did the “come in” but he and his wife Laura hosted the show with his act and appeared thoughout the show with magic and comedy skits. John Weiss is an excellent performer.

When the wagons are unloaded and there is no need for the horses for another load, they are unharnessed, then watered & fed, then rested until tear down. 1935.

Sideshow panel cargo wagon. Notice that the panels attach to the wagons. This allows greater support, A faster set up and tear down. The front of these panels are painted with the different attractions that are on the show. 1935.

Tableau lion cage wagon, 1932. The tableau here was mainly used in parades and also in the menagerie. Many of the lions that were exhibited did not work in the arena as an act.

WHOOPS! Wheels stuck. NO, Well this could happen to the best of us. I am sure something like this has happened to many of us while in a rush to get to the lot or off the lot. I wrecked the back of my house trailer on a stake line backing up in order to make a tight turn. In a rush, had an over night jump. In this photo if you look close you can see that there is a steel plate between the flat cars. If you didn’t notice, it looks like the duals are stuck with in the two flat cars.
