This photo is from 1944, the only season that the Clyde Beatty-Russell Bros title was used.
The previous year, Beatty starred on Clyde Beatty-Wallace Bros., another title only lasting that one season of 1943.
In ’45, Beatty owned the Clyde Beatty Circus as a truck show. Some accounts have that show out on 75 trucks, and with all the endless headaches, Beatty swore he’d never have another truck show. In ’46, he took to the rails, with 15 cars, which he kept through the disastrous, interrupted season of ’56. Through bankruptcy, the show was sold and reorganized, to the lament of all, as a truck show from ’57 on.
