Allen,s Letter To Roger #16

One of my memories of Charlie Allen is that he always had a smile on his face. Charlie suffered with a physical problem, but he never let it get the best of him. He was indeed an inspiration to all that knew him. You may remember the television series “Gentle Ben”. Charlie and wife Beverly trained their own bears for that show. It was a good family program and had good ratings with the public. The Allens had a home north of Bakersfield, Calif, called Pixeley. It was just off the Interstate 10. We never failed to stop and have coffee and cake with them and of course we cut up jackpots. This note has nothing to do with the letter above. I just thought of good times with good friends.
