Ivan, I’m hoping that Roger Smith will get in here. He worked dates outside of Jungleland and I’m wondering if this was the unit he travelled with.

This is a response some 10 months later, Bob. No, this wagon remained at home, and was not road-worthy in my time there. We loaded shifting boxes either onto the old Keystone trailer, pulled by the venerable, aged Rio tractor, or, as I did, loaded them into a rented truck. We unloaded by runs, and lined up the boxes in the usual manner at the arena gate, then rolled them into the backyard. I went out twice for Sid Kellner’s James Bros. Circus, and three times for Miller-Johnson. At Jungleland, we had the best of both worlds. We got in some West Coast circus tours, usually for ten days to three weeks or so, and enjoyed being circus folks again. Then, I’d return to Thousand Oaks, work my acts on the Big Stage Arena, and go to my near-by home at nights, and sleep in my own bed.
