Wally Ross
Posted By thecircusblog on May 9, 2012
Wally Ross worked at the Jungleland compound off and on for several years. This photo was taken in the mid 1960’s.………... Personal note Wally was dear friend of our family. I never heard him say a fowl word, even when he got hot at someone.
The young lady is Cheryl Shawver.
Thanks Randy for your comment on the names of the elephants.

I first met Wally in 55 when he was working with a baby elephant for Luke Anderson. Always a fine fella.
Ivan,
Would you have any idea which three elephants these were?
Bob
The answer to the elephants identy is…Taffy Topsy and Jewel. Many thanks to Kari Johnson and Cheryl Shawver who worked with Wally in 1969. Keep in mind there was two Taffys. May God Bless the elephant ladies.
Wally was my uncle. We all remember his special elephant he trained in the mid to late 50’s, “Babe” we got to ride on her she was so gentle and sweet. He was the kindest uncle and from what I read a wonderful man.
