Frank Buck & Friend
Posted By thecircusblog on May 1, 2012
Frank Buck an entrepreneur extraordinaire. He was an importer and exporter of wild animals, a movie maker, and dabbled in the circus . Some one created this nickname for him,”Bring em Back Alive.” Not bad for a small town fellow from Gainesville, Texas. Photo taken in 1937.
Pete Kolozsy has made a very interesting comment.

There is extensive history on Frank Buck on the net, starting with Wikipedia. All his books and films are listed. It may be of interest that after Edward Anthony collaborated with Buck on BRING ‘EM BACK ALIVE, in 1930, he did the same for Clyde Beatty’s THE BIG CAGE, in 1933–which became Beatty’s first starring role in the film of the same name that year for Universal. Beatty’s co-stars were Raymond Hatton, and a very young MIckey Rooney.
