The Jacksons
Posted By thecircusblog on June 30, 2011
Shelby Jackson was not much of a talker and was quite humble in his ways. I remember once he spoke a little about working with Burt Lancaster on the King circus before the war. He also spoke of Bruce Lablond and a man by the name of Sam Ketchum. I think if I remember correctly this could have been the person that put Shelby in the business and also taught him acrobatics and bars.

Babe & Shelby Jackson were on the Gil Gray show for a few years. They were good friends with my parents (Max & Gertie Craig). Super nice people. They had several different people work with them in their bar act over the years. If I’m not mistaken Shelby started Pablo Rodriquez on the bars & he worked in the act when he was a teenager. Shelby did great comedy in the act.
