The prop & animal crew’s coveralls were usually made with whatever heavy material Mr. Gray found at a bargain at the yardage store. That year it was stripes. Mr. Gray usually bought a lot of the material for costumes & designed them too. He was a good bargain hunter. He also had a phenomenal memory when it came to what he had bought & when. He would come back to winter quarters with bolts of material to be unloaded from the trunk of his car. It was like Christmas.
