This is Tommy a grand looking bull elephant. If I am not mistaken I think the owner was Tony Diano. In 1966 0r 67 I saw this great animal. It was indeed an adrenalin rush.

I came across this photo. I may have posted it before, but in the event I didn’t here it is. Pat Anthony was a friend of mine, we worked many shows together…….. He is missed by many.

Between shows resting in the back yard is Clyde Beatty and Jane. On the far right the lady there is unknown to me, perhaps someone may ID her. This photo was taken in 1962……… Nice looking Air Stream trailer.

This Gorilla once belonged to Jack Badal. When Ramar was a youngster Jack had trained him and was successful in teaching him several tricks including hand balancing. In Clyde Beatty’s career another aspect of show business took over, the movie business.Being a circus performer was put in second place, not that it ended, it’s just that the motion picture studio kept him busy. If you saw any of his movies you would have to admit that Clyde did a pretty good job as an actor.

Beatty raised his own Tigers and Lions. He bred stock at his compound so he never was in need for great looking animals that he broke into his act.
