The only information I have on this photo and many of the other Robbins photos, is that they were mostly shot in 1938. A clown band on the top of this wagon.

The negative was in complete ruin so I had to develop it as best I could for posting. You can still make out some of the wagon and band members.

This flat car is carrying five wagons. Notice who is their star attraction is. Photo shot in 1938.

It seems that these trucks were quite popular on the circuses. The Mack truck became a work horse and was used for just about everything. This photo was shot in 1938 but the Mack looks to be much older.

It says on the negative envelope of this photo, “air calliope”. I don’t believe so? I think it is a tableau cargo wagon. Bob Cline it’s up to you. Bob Cline says it is an air Calliope. Read his comment.

The # 9 wagon in this photo looks almost identical to the #10 wagon.Both these wagons were used for the lions or tigers. Here is something interesting. On the envelope that the negative was in was written “Robbins Bros 1938, then in 1928 with Christy Bros”. I am not surprised these wagon were bought and […]
