This is a back yard snipe shot of Darryl Ferges practicing the ski somersault. I do not know where he got this crazy idea but it worked. I’ve never seen this trick done by anyone else. A couple of great kids. Ninety percent of their time was spent learning the business of performing. They succeeded in doing so and no matter what act they did, it was good. Photo taken in the early 1960’s on the Ted Dewayne circus.

Sad to say that the Jungleland Compound is no longer in Thousand Oaks, Calif. It was demolished many years ago. The only thing left are memories of great animal trainers and where movies were made. There was one other thing……….. A great place to winter.
