From left to right: the Schwarz Trio, the Hobson family and the Hodgini family. This photo was taken June 20,1931 in Patterson, New Jersey. It’s a great picture of a great group of performers. I want to thank Michael for contributing this photo to the circus blog. I have no knowledge of the names of the […]

He got his nick name “Professor ” because he was a college professor of visual arts at Bloomsburg Teachers College, Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, This was before he became a cat trainer… most likely he thought it was safer in […]

Roger Smith sent this article to me for posting in the circus blog ……….Thanks Roger. I can’t count the times I have had to shout out “keep those people back”. It is an animal man’s nightmare when the audience is to close to the ring…………… Remember Casey, how hard it was with the Chimp act. Read […]

All the different names of show on this poster could be confusing, But this was just another way to advertise the show, sort of like an endorsement of one circus to another…….however they were all owned by the same company. 1938.

Odd thing about this movie, Republic studio released it in 1936, then later retitled it “King of Jungleland” and re-released it in 1948.

As you can see I am very happy with my new find and it is in fine condition. I found it in a second hand store in Florida. There is another poster similar to this one, it was printed in 1886 before Barnum and Bailey became part of Ringling Bros.
