The young Capell brothers all were born and raised in the circus business and all became fine showmen.

Lucy did her share of work too. Bill Capell told me she was kind of spoiled because she was smaller than Trixie, but Lucy had a temper and would knock you over if she had a bad day……….Yes, elephants do have bad days.

Trixie was the larger of the two Capell elephants and did most of the work pulling the peeks on the big top. She also was a good performer.

This is the pole wagon. It carries all the big top poles….center, quarter and side poles and all of the rigging used to set up the tent, It will also carry flags, banners, light spiders and electric cable for the big top. Notice again the water tank.

This is how the smaller animals travel …they are housed in individual compartments for their safety. Most are menagerie animal carried in this semi. The top of semi has a raised roof opening to allow air to blow in while traveling. Also along the side of the semi there are sections that slide out for cleaning and feeding.

This truck trailer semi was used for all the hoof stock. The bear on the side of the semi is for looks only. Notice the water tank on the back of the truck, about four hundred gallons. Most of the trucks on the circus carried water tanks. This is most important for your animals and […]

The ticket wagon pulled up near the marquee main entrance but just far enough away not to disturb the people in line going into the tent.

The office wagon was used for all the the supplies to run the circus. It was also a good place to rest and have meetings with the locals and the fixer for free tickets, etc,etc.
