This wagon is set on the wheel runs and is slowly being unloaded. The safety pulley line is faintly visible attached to the front of the wagon. This tethers the wagon, so there is not a run away.

Here you see a Mack truck pulling a loaded cargo trailer. There was no drive shaft in those trucks–they were chain driven. The chain ran from an exterior drive wheel to the back axle as seen here. there was no such thing as an inner tube in those days. The wheels then were hard rubber […]
