Peggy and Mac McDonald with the Besalou Elephants on Pollack Bros Circus 1954. Louie Stern owner..Louie was lucky to have one of the finest elephant trainers and that was Mac. After Mac came another great trainer, Buckle’s Woodcock.

Photo taken 1968 on Polack Bros Circus. I remember this cat well. Pat would have her do many fast roll overs and sometimes she would come out of them and try to bounce Pat. Bill Johnson and I had to keep an eye on her for Pat. She was called Tuffy and rightly so…..she was a tough cat.

La Fontain was their stage name. They are from the Canestrelli family, an Italian circus family. Tosca is on the right and Chi Chi is in the center. The last time we worked together was on the Hubert Castle Circus in the 60’s.
