I don’t believe that this photo was shot in a big top. Looks to me like a theater or coliseum of some sort..

I did not know that Mamie worked rosin back. I will check in to the info, that I got from a circus fan. I just found out that this is not Mamie. Thanks to Dolly her great granddaughter. Please read her comment.

I believe that during her time Mamie was the only female flyer that did a double somersault. Thanks again Juliana for these great photos.

It took hours to glean this photo from its negative. This photo of Sells Bros was shot in 1882. The show was making ready for there circus parade. A friend of mine who is a photographer saved the nitrate negative with some sort of a chemical process. He said that he would help me with […]
