As you can see I am very happy with my new find and it is in fine condition. I found it in a second hand store in Florida. There is another poster similar to this one, it was printed in 1886 before Barnum and Bailey became part of Ringling Bros.

This poster now hangs on my office door, but not for long as soon it will be covered with a special paper that will protect it until it is framed.

This was one of many posters of Clyde Beatty that was not an actual photo of him. The date is around the early to mid 1930’s and is totallly hand artistry.

This was their ticket wagon. Now it sits in ruin….. gone forever. How I wish we could have saved more of our circus history. At least there is this photo to remember it by.

Clyde Beatty’s comic book cover. It came out in 1953 preceding his motion picture “Perils of the Jungle”. In 1954 the Lippert motion picture company produced “Ring of Fear”, starring Clyde Beatty and Micky Spillane.

Most of these old posters were lithographs. A master poster was hand drawn and painted and then upon completion prints were made by the hundreds. Each year the posters were different from the last season. Whatever the attractions were for that season a poster was crafted. Many posters were generic with open white spaces where show dates […]
