Hagenbeck & Wallace winter quarters in Peru, Indiana 1930. It is said that Clyde would never lay off for any amount of time, maybe a day or two . He was always in practice with his cats if he was not doing shows or publicity shots.

After the passing of Clyde Beatty in 1965, there was another trainer with a great deal of talent to take Beatty’s place in the arena. Dave Hoover was no amateur…. he was swift and commanded the steel cage.
