Jose Tomas and “TOTO” on Ringling Bros & Barnum, Baily Circus. Photo was taken in the early 1940’s. TOTO was in his traveling cage at this time. His carrying cage was specially built just for him. It was built by the Carrier Corp of Syracuse.

When times were hard and money got a little low grandfather would use Ringling paper to advertise his own circus by sniping over the Ringling name and putting in these famous words, AFTER THE MINNOW COMES THE WHALE, HENRY BROS CIRCUS……..A true jack pot.

Greater Olympia Circus was produced by the Chicago Stadium Corporation and Barnes and Carruthers, Inc. The show played at the Chicago Stadium April 18 through May 4th, 1941. The Jacobs were featured in the show with all their wild animal acts.

In 1941 ToTo was brought from Mexico to the Ringling Circus. Both ToTo and Gargantua were exibited in the menagerie hopefully to become acquainted with each other. This is the photo of the cover of a six page booklet that was sold in the menagerie by Jose Tomas, who also took care of ToTo.
