Lou Jacobs… Just taking it easy in the back yard between shows. 1958. Most of the Gildemiester photos have never been published before nor even seen until now. Thanks Jerry for sending me these photos for the circus blog.

RB.B&B 1958. Do any of these performers look familiar to you?

Lou Jacobs and a fellow clown who’s name is unknown to me. This a walk around. In an earlier post I wrote about how important they are to attract the audience’s attention while dismantling or setting up the arenas.

Back yard photo of Lou Jacobs 1958. I wonder what is going through his mind. Notice the expression on his face.

Lou Jacobs 1958 ………… Walk around. Every clown had his own gags for their walk around. This portion of the show was important as the clowns would walk the hippodrome doing their funny bits. The prop crew had up to 5 or 7 minutes to set the rings or aerial for next displays. Eyes were so trained on the clowns that the audience paid no attention to the work being done in the arenas. During the circus there may be many walk arounds. It all depended on what was needed.

1958. If those of you have any knowledge or history, or even a “jack pot” of any of the photos I post, please make a comment…. Thanks.
Just found out from Chic from his comment that this is Otto Griebling.
Thanks for your help.
