KoKo & Grace Fairburns

Posted By on September 5, 2008

Koko and Grace did numerous clown numbers. They also teamed up with Harry Ross. The funniest part about Koko and Grace is that KoKo could not hear, and Grace had to yell at him on the stage to direct as to what to do next. The audience loved them.

Harry Ross & His Dog Pal

Posted By on September 5, 2008

Harry began working in vaudeville with a hand balancing chair and table act. It wasn’t until later that he started doing the same act only as a clown. He created a lot of comedy in this act….people loved him. For those who knew him, his favorite expression was “you believe that, don’t cha?”……..May God bless Rossie.

Please read the great comment made by Scott.

Helene perfomes rings, traps and a neck swivel on the Siebrand Bros. stage. There were also two circus rings on either side of the stage for ground acts and large animals. Her husband Eddie had a dog act one of three on the circus.

The Landons were from Argentina and performed a great hand balancing act. Victor & I became friends….I thought he was a kid like myself because of his size. I spoke Spanish and English, I became his English teacher.

The Escalante Circus

Posted By on September 5, 2008

The Escalante Circus was a small show, but it spawned some of the greatest circus performers in the country at that time. Notice on the far right a man in a dark suit. His name was Herbie Webber, a tight wire performer known for his “slide for life” act. Also is Melonga, Chata, Henry, Lalo, Escalante the Landon’s and my Mom and Dad.
