There are a series of tricks done in clown trapeze. In this picture, Cliff Henry is perfoming what’s called an “In & Out”. 1941 Henry Bros Circus

My Dad, Cliff Henry, doing clown trapeze. He’s balancing on the trapeze bar, finishing the trick he’d fall backwards into an ankle drop. He would have to catch the chair at the same time. 1939, Henry Bros Circus. He continued doing this act on Cronin Bros Circus.

Cliff Henry doing “The Steps”. This is a very dangerous trick on the rolling globe. You can break your back very easily if you fall. This was done on the Yankee Patterson Show.

Mary Henry doing “Spinning Plates”. The unseen difficulty of this trick is that her head position is looking up rather than casting her eyes straight or down to keep her balance on the globe.

Mary & Cliff Henry (my mother & dad) on the rolling globe. The trick is called a “two together”. The photo was taken on the Yankee Patterson Circus early 1943.

This is a publicity shot of the Glenn Henry family. Their acts included rolling globe, dogs, ponies and horses. Glenn was an all around good trainer. From left to right are his daughter Patty, his wife Ethel, Shirley his other daughter & Glenn.

Al not only worked in the circus, he also did vaudeville and night club work. After he married Bertha Henry, his main interest was the circus and of course it was Henry Bros.
