Blow Off: After the show has ended and the audience was leaving the tent or the building. It was the last opportunity to hustle the audience with toys, candy and food.

Holdback: It was common practice to “hold back” two weeks salary so that a performer would have emergency money. The “holdback” for the ruffies made sure they stayed on the show for the season.
