They had it all from high diving aqua mules to wrestling tigers, trained dogs and chimps. From movies to fairs they did it all and most likely are still going strong.

The back ground of the date trees tells me this photo could have been shot in Indio, California at the National Date Festival. Guiding an ostrich is not an easy task. A house broom is needed. By placing the broom along side the head you can turn the Ostrich in the direction you wish to go……. some times. In actuality they run every which way and the audience gets a good laugh out of the confusion.

This mule was trained to buck on que no flank strap were needed. Most of the people that tried their hand at staying on this mule were volunteers from the audience.

The Beverly Hillbillies were always looking for animal talent for their television shows. Animal people got a lot of work…..including Henry’s Chimps.

This photo I believe to be Gene Holter’s “G.T” short for “Great Tiger”. He was a well trained animal for motion picture work.
