Roger Smith took the time to a lash and send a twisted stock. The workmanship detail is perfect and the lash is the same type that Clyde Beatty used in his cat act. I can’t tell you how proud I am to now have this in my collection of circus memorabilia. Thanks again Roger.

Ward Hall 4th person from left.
You might call this a “Donacker Photo”.
I couldn’t help it! 🙂

There is something about a European circus. It seems to be a little more personable. As for myself, I always enjoyed performing close to the audience with my chimp act. The comedy that was the body of the act included joking with the audience, prop hands and the ringmaster. It created fun for us as well as the audience………… Just ask Casey Gibbs

This act would be very exciting to watch being fast with many aerial maneuvers. In the past I have seen a single cradle, but never a double. I am sure someone knows their name and where they are from. If so please inform me.

If anyone has a video of Henry’s Chimps, I would be grateful if you could send me a copy. In all the years of performing, we never took any ourselves, however I do know that many were.
circus fans and performers did take some.
Many thanks,
Ivan

One fine showman. A book could be written about him. If you know of him you will know what I mean. This photo was autographed by Bobby and given to Bill and Dorothy Capell. I have no idea where Bobby’s at now. I sure world like to say hello. The last time I saw him was at the National Date Festival, Indio, Calif. I booked him on the independent midway. Bobby…. I hope that you see this post. It’s my hello and a tribute to you.
This can be found in the book, Shocker and Amazed! by James Taylor.
Some time ago Mr. Taylor sent me a complete volume of his books. A real collector’s item.

I don’t know this to be a fact, but I think this show front belongs to Bobby Reynolds. I remember seeing it at the Phoenix State Fair in the late 1990’s. I also remember that someone took exception to the use of the phase “Giant Monster Rats”saying it was misleading and untrue. They said that the animals inside the exhibitions on display were not rats, but were Capybaras which is indeed a huge rodent that comes from South America. Well, to make a long story short, Bobby was closed down for a time but later changed the banners to Capybara Killer from South America and went on to reopen. Bobby always had an angle, and I write this with all due respect to Bobby Reynolds. I first met Bobby in 1958 and have been his friend since then and have booked his shows on a few fairs that I have produced.
