In this photo Theresa is getting ready to go into an “Heel Catch”. Some trapeze performers will place themselves one heel at a time. Others will slide from their hocks to their heels, which in my opinion is much more difficult. The trick is difficult especially if you do the trick at the front of the swing. Not to give away any secrets but most performers will use heal blocks that will extend the heal for more holding support on the trap bar…… I have seen this trick done with bare feet but only by women, why I can’t tell you.
Thank you Ivan Spellman for the correction.

This is a completed heel catch and done very well. Her legs are extended giving the trick a beautiful and professional appearance. Theresa is wearing blocks but they are very small and are not noticeable to an untrained eye. Not to be critical ………..But I have seen blocks so large that it looks like the aerial artist had deformed feet, because their blocks were so large. This is a Doc Capell photo. Theresa Morales might have been a performer on his circus.

One can plainly see an African elephant and the one to the right having a snack is an Asian. Still no name of the circus.
