Lion and tiger cage wagon. Photo taken during parade. Notice the man on the horse. He is known as an out rider. These men were the eyes and ears of the circus parade. They made sure that all went well.
Please read the great comment Bob Cline made.Thanks.

The name of this wagon is The Snake Den. When I blow up these photos in my photo shop and actually witness the expressions of the people. They all stand in awe, fear and wonderment. Many of the photos I have made into 8 by 10’s

Lion cage wagon. I wish there had been more information on these negatives. If only I knew of some of the cities that parade photos were taken.

Caravan

Randy Runyon a few days ago sent this wonderful old photo of a caravan. I have seen this type of wagon before. This style of wagon was popular on European circuses in the 1800’s and early 1900’s. there were also a few in this country. Some call them Gypsy wagons, others sheep herders wagon. I get the feeling that this wagon may have been built by a studio for a movie and was later sold to a private party. It’s location now is at Sand Cyn, five miles from the Walt Disney Ranch, California. I will try to get some more info from Randy.
