This hippo den was owned by The Great Wallace Circus. It was made by Sullivan & Eagle Works Peru, Indiana in the very early 1900’s. This photo came from the Bob Cline collection… Thanks Bob.

The image quality of this photo is bad but it was the best I could do considering the age of the negative. I have two photos of Cooper & Bailey both are intriguing and can make your mind wonder back to those old circus days.…………. Forgive my being a little too sentimental.

In the process of creating a positive photo, the negative fell totally apart because of it’s age. I still have all the portions of it. Perhaps one day there might be a way to repair and enhance the negative.

I don’t mean to confuse you. The person on the horse is not Terrell. I believe this photo was taken when Terrell had his circus, around 1950. The exact date I am not too sure of.

Tommy Bentley, 1965. Tommy did his dog act and rode as well as managed. He also stepped in as Ring Master when owner Rudy Jacobe was away from the show.
